SCHENECTADY, NY--The 18th-ranked Union College men's hockey team returns to the ice for the first time in 19 days, opening a six-game road swing at Princeton and No. 5/7 Quinnipiac this weekend. 

UNION VS. PRINCETON ALL-TIME SERIES
Union is 28-19-8 against Princeton in its Division I era and is unbeaten in the last 14 meetings (11-0-3) between the two teams. The Dutchmen went 1-0-1 in the regular season series last season, playing to a 4-4 tie on the road and posting a 2-1 win at home in the most recent meeting. Eli Lichtenwald and Nick DeSimone each scored in the win, while Sebastian Vidmar produced his first career two-goal game in the tie. 

UNION VS. QUINNIPIAC ALL-TIME SERIES
Quinnipiac leads the all-time series 18-12-4 and has won nine of the last 12 meetings (9-2-1). Union's last road win against the Bobcats was a 3-2 victory in game two of the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals on March 14, 2015. The Dutchmen were 0-1-1 against Quinnipiac last season, falling 5-0 on the road and battling to a 3-3 tie at home. J.C. Brassard had a goal and an assist and Mike Vecchione and Eli Lichtenwald each tallied in the tie.

Union dropped one spot to No. 18 in the latest USCHO.com Division I poll released Monday, marking the fifth consecutive week the Dutchmen have appeared in the top 20. 

QUICK HITS
  • Union is 5-0-0 when scoring first and 4-0-1 when leading after one, but just 3-3-2 when conceding the first goal.
  • The Dutchmen have trailed by at least one goal in their last five games, scoring first in just one and going 2-2-1 in that span.
  • Union is 2-1-0 against ranked opponents this season with come-from-behind wins against then No. 11/12 Michigan and No. 16 Yale. The Dutchmen are 42-22-11 (.633) against ranked opponents under head coach Rick Bennett.
