NEW HAVEN, CT - Haley Shugart scored for her second consecutive game as the Union College women's hockey team lost on the road against Yale.

The Bulldogs got off to a quick start as Kara Draxler found Phoebe Staenz who beat Amelia Murray just nine seconds into the game. Yale would net four more on its way to a 5-1 victory over Union in New Haven, CT.

The Union goal came in the first period as Cheyenne Harris won the faceoff getting it to Ava Reynolds who then found Shugart who put it home to tie the game at 1-1 at the 18:17 mark. This was the fifth goal of the season for Shugart and her second straight game with a goal as she scored against Brown on Friday night. It was also the second consecutive game with an assist as she had a helper on Shugart's goal against the Bears.

The game would not be tied for long as Jordan Chancellor put the Bulldogs ahead just 20 seconds later. Yale would add one more before the period was over taking a 3-1 lead into intermission.

Yale continued the pressure in the second period netting two more goals including a shorthander by Eden Murray. After the fifth Bulldog goal, Union made a change in net as Celine Tessier came in for Murray. Tessier would make all 12 saves in the relief effort.

Union is back on the ice Friday when it plays at Clarkson. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
