SCHENECTADY, NY -- Mackenzie Aldridge scored a game high 21 points and Lauren Getman had a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead Hamilton College to a 61-55 win over host Union College at the Viniar Athletic Center Thursday night.

Caroline Barrett added 11 points for the Continentals (2-3), how shot 38% but 62% in the fourth period. Samantha Srinivasan had a game high seven rebounds. Hamilton had a 39-30 rebounding advantage and made 14 of 15 free throws on the night.

Nicole Conley had 12 points to lead the Dutchwomen (2-2) and Abby Katz scored 11 with a team high seven rebounds. Jenni Barra added nine points and three assists for Union, which shot 35%, but also had a strong fourth with 57% shooting.

The game was a defensive minded contest in the first half, with the teams tied at 12-12 after the first and Hamilton leading 25-17 at halftime. Hamilton took a 10 point lead at 30-20 with 6:59 left in the third period after a three pointer by Barrett. and also led by 10 at 32-22, but Union got to within four with seven seconds left in the period when Lily Abarbanel made two free throws for a 36-32 score. That was the score after three.

Union trailed by one at 36-35 after a three pointer by Conley 50 seconds into the fourth. But a 17-8 run over the next 6:02 gave the guests another 10 point lead. Union got as close at 55-52 with 35 seconds remaining but the visitors made all six free throw attempts down the stretch to seal the win.

Union plays another non-league game Saturday at Pine Manor at 1 p.m.
