SCHENECTADY, NY—The No. 18 Union College women's lacrosse team fell to No. 1 SUNY Cortland 19-8 on Thursday afternoon at Frank Bailey Field.
Cailin Pandolfi scored her second hat-trick of the season and finished the game with five points.
Maggie Comiskey tallied two goals and an assist.
Jessica Farland grabbed six groundballs, while
Kate Kurchena had six draw controls. The Dutchwomen led in draw controls 17-12.Â
Hallie Stone made three saves in the 26:13 played, while
Jen Hughes recorded six saves in the remaining 33:47. Â
Kristen Ohberg and Ashley Gentile each tallied five goals and an assist. Tara Monaghan followed it up with four goals and two assists.
Union's Farland scored first, but Cortland countered with a 7-1 run. Comiskey,
Jackie Hagopian and Pandolfi each scored goals in the first. The Dutchwomen trailed 13-4 entering halftime.
The Red Dragons opened the second on a 4-0. The Dutchwomen stopped that with four consecutive goals. Pandolfi scored two of the four, followed by Comiskey and Cronin.
The Dutchwomen head to Florida where they will take on Colby College on March 21.
