Mike Vecchione was selected to the All-ECAC Hockey Third Team, as announced by the league office Friday morning.
Vecchione, who receives All-ECAC Hockey honors for the first time in his career, appeared in 34 of 36 games for the Dutchmen, leading the team with 20 assists and 29 points and finishing tied for third with nine goals. He also notched a team-best 18 points against ECAC Hockey opponents, ranking eighth in assists per game (0.55) and points per game (0.90) in ECAC Hockey contests, and had a team-best 7 rating in league play.
The Saugus, Mass. native produced eight multi-point games and he was one of the top centers in the country in the faceoff circle,
winning 61.1% of his draws and finishing the season with a Division I-best 508 faceoff wins.Vecchione had a point in nine of the team's final 11 games, tying a season-high with two goals and three points (2 g, 1 a) in Union's 4-1 win at Dartmouth on Feb. 12.
Vecchione, who became the program's 13th 100-point scorer in its Division I era, ranks seventh in the program's Division I era in career assists (71), 10th in points (113), and 11th in goals (42).
