SCHENECTADY, NY - The Union College (4-4) volleyball team finished the Union Invitational 2-2 after splitting a pair of matches against Middleberry College and Ramapo College Sunday.
In the 11 AM match against Middleberry, the Dutchwomen won in straight sets 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, 25-22) finding consistent offense through
Alyssa Bonesteel, 15 kills, and
Emma Sprotbery, 13 kills. Setter
Amanda Price guided the offense finishing with a 36 assist and 13 dig double-double performance. Union's service game was also on as it tallied eight aces in the three set match.
In the final match of the Union Invitational, the Dutch dropped a highly competitive five set match 2-3 (20-25, 26-28, 20-25, 25-22, 11-15) to Ramapo.
Morgan Clark proved to be tough to stop as she notched 18 kills with only two errors against the Road Runners. Ultimately, it wasn't enough as Ramapo pulled out the win late in the fifth set.
VanDoren was garnered All-Tournament honors as she had 34 kills and seven aces over Union's four matches.
The Dutchwomen are back on the court next weekend in the Union Tournament as they will play two matches Friday and two on Saturday.
