Union College went on to sweep the Dolphins (25-14, 25-12, 25-21) en route to its first win of the Union Tournament Friday night. The Dutchwomen offense proved to be hard to stop in the first match as they finished with an attack percentage of .305 while limiting the Dolphins to a .105 clip.
Ally VanDoren finished with a team-high 13 kills while
Alyssa Bonesteel had nine, Clark had and
Emma Sprotbery had seven forming a well rounded attack.
The Dutch offense carried over into the second match against College of New Rochelle as Union toppled the Blue Angels 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-18). Sprotbery had a near flawless match as she did not record an attack error and tied for a team-high 13 kills with VanDoren in the sweep. Union dug in on defense saving its best for the last set as it held New Rochelle to a -.071 attack percentage forcing nine attack errors.
The Dutchwomen are back on the court on Saturday as they have a pair of matches against SUNY-Fredonia and SUNY-Potsdam starting at 1:00 PM.
