BABSON PARK, MA - The Union College field hockey team fell 2-0 to No. 10 Babson College Saturday afternoon.

The game remained scoreless throughout the entire first half as both goalies stood tall in net. Union's Laura Aptowitz recorded 12 stops in the first half to keep the score tied.

The shots kept coming at Aptowitz and the Beavers were finally able to put one by her as Elise Towers found Victoria Spofford to break the deadlock three minutes into the second half. Babson added to its lead 13 minutes later as Brielle Schafroth-Bach to put the Beavers up 2-0.

Aptowitz finished with 17 saves in the match while Stephanie Resnick tallied two shots for the Dutchwomen.

Union is back in action Tuesday when it visits Morrisville State College. The game is set to start at 6:00 PM.
