SCHENECTADY, NY—The Union College women's soccer team battled to a 1-1 tie with Buffalo State on Saturday afternoon at College Park.
The Dutchwomen, who played their second overtime contest in four games, move to 2-3-1, while the Bengals go to 3-1-2.

Buffalo State pulled in front in the 21
st minute when Melissa Smith guided home a header from six yards on a perfectly placed cross from Catherine Mammoser, snapping Union's 200-minute shutout streak.
Contompasis responded for the Dutchwomen just under 10 minutes later, tallying her first of the season just 75 seconds after coming on as a substitute. Dominick delivered a free kick from 35 yards and Contompasis peeled away from her defender before driving a powerful header past Bengals goalkeeper Taylor Carillo.
The teams traded offensive opportunities in the second half, each nearly scoring in the final 10 minutes. Contompasis worked her way past two defenders and into the Buffalo State 18-yard box, but her left footed strike fell comfortably into Carillo's hands.
Hartsoe came up big at the other end in the 88
th minute, making a sprawling save to deny Tianna Hatch on a partial breakaway.
Neither team generated a shot on goal in the extra frame, as the game ended 1-1.
Buffalo State outshot Union 13-6, while the Dutchwomen owned a 3-2 edge in corners. Carillo finished with three saves.
Union opens Liberty League play at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 27, hosting crosstown rival Skidmore.
