SCHENECTADY, NY -- Callie Fisher scored both goals to lead #12 University of Rochester to a 2-0 Liberty League field hockey victory over Union College at Frank Bailey Field Saturday afternoon. The Yellowjackets improved to 8-0 overall and 1-0 in the league while the Dutchwomen fell to 3-4 and 0-1.

Rochester had a 27-3 shot advantage and also had 12 of the 13 corners. Laura Aptowitz made 12 saves for Union while Gabrielle Cantley had two stops in the first half.

At the 26 minute mark, Fisher notched her fifth of the season when she scored from 12 yards out on the left side of the net. In the first half, Fisher had three of the Yellowjackets' five shots on net and Rochester had a 7-3 advantage in shots in the first half.

Aptowitz kept it close later in the second half. In a span of just under 12 minutes, Rochester had five corners and 11 shots. Aptowitz made three stops and Lindsay Barson had two defensive saves for the Dutchwomen in that run. Olivia Denny and Nancy Bansbach had three shots each in the run from 48:24 to 62:00.

Fisher had six shots (four on net) and Maya Haigis had five overall. Denny and Claire Dickinson had three shots on goal each.

Union is back home Wednesday to host William Paterson for a 6 p.m. non-league game.
