The Dutchwomen played the Huskies to a 2-2 tie last season in Storrs, CTÂ as
Jacyn Reeves and
Jamie Smith found the back of the net for Union. The all-time series, which started back in 2009, is knotted up at 3-3-2. Prior to last year's matchup, the Dutchwomen had won three of the last four meetings.
The game will be broadcast live at UnionAthletics.tv with Sam Sigal on the call.
The Union College women's hockey team opened up the season with an exhibition game against Concordia University (QE). The Dutchwomen held the Stingers scoreless through the first period and into the second period before Keriann Schofield ended the deadlock with a shot from the left wing beating Céline Tessier over her shoulder. Concordia would go on to score four more times coming out of Messa Rink with a 5-1 win.
The breakthrough came for the Dutch with just two minutes remaining in the game as
Alli Devins won the faceoff and the  moved the puck down the ice finding
Jordi Naidrich who fired a shot on net. Bache stopped the first shot and the rebound shot from Devins, but couldn't stop the third chance. Naidrich flipped a backhand into the top of the net to put the Dutchwomen on the board.
