ROCHESTER, NY—Geneseo used two second-half goals to secure a 3-0 win against the Union College women's soccer team, Saturday in the Flower City Classic hosted at Rochester University.
The Dutchwomen go to 0-2 on the season, while the Knights move to 1-0-1.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Erica Matteo finished with three saves in goal for Union. Geneseo goalkeeper Emily Janiszewski stopped the two shots she faced over the first 82:42, while Juliana Panepento made one save over the final 7:18.
Erin O'Connor put the Knights in front 33:44 into the first half, driving down the left wing before placing a shot into the bottom right corner.
Emily Green doubled the Knights lead just over 10 minutes into the second stanza, tucking home a low shot from 15 yards.
Geneseo put the game out of reach in the 73
rd minute when Laurie Knapp converted on a rebound after Meaghan Johnston's strike came crashing off the crossbar.
Union goes on the road to take on Plattsburgh at 7 p.m.
