SCHENECTADY, NY - After one game away from friendly confines, the Union College women's hockey team returns to Messa Rink for meetings with a pair of top five teams on Friday and Saturday.

The Dutchwomen stay home in the Capital Region to play host to nationally ranked Clarkson University and St. Lawrence University. Union plays the Saints on Friday at Messa Rink with puck drop scheduled for 6:00 p.m. On Saturday, the game against Clarkson is set to start at 3:00 p.m.
Last Time Out
First year forward Haley Shugart netted a late goal in the third period to cut the Union College women's hockey deficit in half.
When RPI tried to clear the puck out of the zone, junior forward Katie Laughlin poked at it sending it into the air. The puck found the stick of Shugart who picked out a corner and snipped it over the stick side shoulder of Engineer goalie Lovisa Salander.
The tally was the only Dutchwoman goal of the game as they fell to rival RPI 2-1 at Houston Field House Saturday afternoon.
Do It for Daron Game
Saturday Jan. 28, Union hosts it annual Do It for Daron game against No. 3/3 Clarkson University. Proceeds from the game go to the Ottawa Royal Mental Hospital. For more information please visit our website or www.difd.com.
Scouting the Saints
The No. 5 team in the country has won four of its last five games with the lone loss coming to Colgate in overtime on Friday Jan. 20th. The Saints have the league's top two scorers in Kennedy Marchment with 41 points (15 G, 26 A) and Brooke Webster with 38 points (14 G, 24 A).
Scouting the Golden Knights
Before a Jan. 20 2-1 loss to Cornell, Clarkson had been unbeaten since mid-October. The Golden Knight's boost the ECAC's top offense scoring 96 goals on the season.
All-Time vs. St. Lawrence Saints
This is the 26th all-time between Union and St. Lawrence. The Dutchwomen have two results all-time in the series the last of which came on Feb. 6th, 2015 when Union tied the Saints 1-1 at Messa Rink. Overall, Union is 0-23-2 in the series which includes a 4-0 loss to the then No. 4/4 St. Lawrence in Canton, NY. The other result for the Dutchwomen came in 2011 when they tied the Saints 2-2 in Schenectady on Nov. 5th.
All-Time vs. Clarkson Golden Knights
This is the 27th all-time meeting between Union and Clarkson. The Dutchwomen recorded their lone victory in the series on Nov. 4, 2011 when they beat the Golden Knights 2-1 at Messa Rink. Overall, Union is 1-25-0 in the series which includes a 5-1 loss to the then No. 7/6 Golden Knights on Nov. 11th in Potsdam, NY.)
Next Up
The Dutchwomen start Febuary on the road as they travel to the Finger Lakes region for games against Cornell University and Colgate University on the 3rd and 4th. Union lost to then No. 7/6 Colgate on Oct. 28 2-0 while losing 3-1 to Cornell the next day.
