Yuen Nets First of Her Career In Loss to St. Lawrence

SCHENECTADY, NY - Six minutes into the second period of play, senior forward Eastyn Yuen took the puck at the goal mouth wrapped around the back of the net and beat St. Lawrence goaltender Grace Harrison for her first career goal.

The goal was assisted by first year forward Katelynn Russ and first year defenseman Abby Ellis to make it 4-1 at the 6:33 mark of the period. The Saints would net four more goals in the game to claim a 8-1 win at Messa Rink.

The Union College women's hockey team held the No. 5/5 team at bay for the first 13 minutes of play Friday night before St. Lawrence netted the first goal of the night.

The Saints top line found the breakthrough goal at the 13:17 mark when Brooke Webster followed yo a rebound shot and punched it past the right pad of Union goalie Kate Spooner.

The top scoring team in the ECAC netted three more goals in the period taking a 4-0 lead to the first intermission.

At the beginning of the second period, Amelia Murray took over in net for Spooner. Murray finished out the rest of the game in net for the Dutchwomen. St. Lawrence would net three goals in the second period before tallying its final goal via an empty netter in the third.

Union is back on the ice tomorrow afternoon when it faces No. 3/3 Clarkson at 3:00 p.m. This is the Do It for Daron game which raises awareness for mental health.
