SCHENECTADY, NY - The Union College women's hockey team opens up 2017 playing host to two ECAC foes. They come in the form of Yale University and Brown University on Friday (Jan. 6) at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday (Jan. 7) at 3:00 p.m. at Messa Rink.

Haley Shugart scored the lone goal in the Dutchwomen's 3-1 loss at Brown on Nov. 4th. She would score again the next night in a 5-1 in New Haven, CT against Yale. First year defenseman
Ava Reynolds had assists in both games.
Last Time Out
First year forward and Minnesota native
Cheyenne Harris scored her third goal of the weekend in a 2-1 loss to Minnesota St.-Mankato Saturday afternoon at Messa Rink.
Harris' goal came in the third period as Union trailed the Mavericks 1-0. At the 8:22 mark of the period, the puck fell to Harris right at the goal mouth as a slapshot from McLaren deflected right to Harris and she slid it past the goalie tying the game.
McLaren and
Katelynn Russ were credited with assists on the play.
The game seemed to be destined for overtime until Lindsey Coleman got out on a breakaway. She dropped the puck back to Anna Keys who picked her spot and beat
Amelia Murray to put MSU-Mankato up 2-1 at 18:42 of the third period.
Murray made 25 saves in the losing effort.
Scouting the Bulldogs
In Yale's last nine games, the Bulldogs are 0-7-2 with ties coming against Connecticut and Vermont. They went 0-1-1 last weekend in their series with the Catamounts. Forwards Krista Yip-Chuck (6G, 14A) Eden Murray (5G, 14A). Yip-Chuck and Murray both scored in their 5-1 win over Union on Nov. 5.
Scouting the Bears
The Bears are 0-10-0 over their last 10 games. On the power play, Brown is 1/30 in ECAC play while their penalty kill has allowed 17 goals on 41 opportunities.
All-Time vs. Yale Bulldogs
This is the 29th meeting all-time between Union and Yale. The Dutchwomen went 2-2-2 against the Bulldogs from 2012-14. Overall, Union is 2-24-2 in the series which includes a 5-1 loss to Yale on Nov. 5th in New Haven, CT as

This is the meeting 28th all-time between Union and Brown. The Dutchwomen are 2-3-2 against the Bears since the 2013 season including a 3-1 loss on Nov. 4th at Brown.
Haley Shugart scored the lone goal in the loss in Providence. Union's last win in the series came on Dec. 6, 2014 beating the Bears 3-2.
Next Up
The Dutchwomen are on the road for the first time in 2017 as they travel to Dartmouth and Harvard on Jan. 13-14. This will be the first time this season Union plays the Crimson and Big Green.
