Dutchwomen back on the road for pair against UConn

SCHENECTADY, NY - Coming off a tough loss against Vermont earlier this week, the Dutchwomen hit the ground running for a pair of games against UConn on Friday, Oct. 13 and Saturday, Oct. 14. 

Union will look to grab its first win of the season this weekend on the road, to conclude their five-game road stretch. The Dutchwomen will return home on Friday, Oct. 27 against Brown, to kick off ECAC conference play. 

UNION VS. UCONN - ALL-TIME SERIES
- The Dutchwomen and Huskies have faced off ten times in series' history.
- As a historically evenly matched game, the series record lies 5-3-2 in the Huskies' favor. 
- Union first played UConn in 2009 and most recently dropped a pair of games to the Huskies in 2016, with 5-1 and 2-1 losses.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
- Senior Leah Lum, UConn's leading goal scorer from a year ago, tallied the only goal for the Huskies against the Catamounts last week.
- In her first two games of the season, senior Annie Belanger has made 49 saves – including a season-best 31 in the opener at St. Cloud State. Her save percentage of .961 is third-best among Hockey East goalies.
- Five freshmen – Natalie Snodgrass, Savannah Bouzide, Morgan Wabick, Taylor Wabick and Carley Olivier – have received playing time for the Huskies, 
contributing to a senior-driven group of eight players.

FRESH LEGS
- Union hockey welcomes 11 newcomers to the big stage for the 2017-18 campaign. 
- So far all 11 have dressed for the garnet & white. 
- Between the 10 skaters, they combine for 1 goal, 3 assists and 25 shots.
- Freshman goaltender, Coco Francis has appeared in two games for the 
Dutchwomen. In nearly 79 minutes of work she has one goal allowed and a .974 save percentage, with 38 saves. 

KOSAKOWSKI IS KEY
- Junior Arianna Kosakowski has led the way offensively for the Dutchwomen thus far this season. 
- She is currently tied for first place for goals scored in ECAC stats. Kosakowski and Clarkson's Elizabeth Giguere both have three goals this season, so far.
- Kosakowski has nearly doubled her career totals in just four games this season. Prior to this season the junior had a .056 career shot percentage and two career goals. In her junior year campaign she is shooting .375 with three goals on eight shots.
