HOBOKEN, NJ – The Union College volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on day two of the Stevens Invitational tournament.
Match One:
The Dutchwomen fell three sets to none earlier today against host team Stevens (19-25, 11-25, 17-25). As a team, Union had 28 kills in comparison to Stevens' 30. However, efficiency was their downfall today, as the total game attack percentage came down to .000.
Individually,
Stephanie Libonati produced offensively, as she had eight kills on 14 attempts to end the match with a .357 attack percentage. On the opposite end of the game,
Brianne Hallock had the match high of 19 digs.
Stevens had 30 kills on 96 attempts with 12 errors to give them a .188 attack percentage. The team also had six total team blocks.
Match Two:
The Dutchwomen fell to Montclair State in match two of the day. Despite being out-hit by MSU, 49-34, first year
Gillian Gore did have the match high of 16 kills. The Dutchwomen's hitting improved from game one, as they swung .109 against Montclair. Libonati led the team in attack percentage with .208, which came from eight kills on 24 attempts.
Gore also had the match high for digs, 20, and Megan Teets had 20 assists on the day.
MSU aced the Dutchwomen three times while Union had seven of their own.
