Weitzman leads Dutchmen to double OT draw

POTSDAM, NY - Despite being out shot 12-11, the Dutchmen were able to walk away with a draw to Clarkson, after a double overtime battle.

The Golden Knights were able to get six shots off on goal, all of which were saved by Union's keeper, John Weitzman. Clarkson had 10 corner opportunities, compared to just two that Union earned. But, the Dutch's strong defense was able to shut down any scoring threat presented by the Golden Knights.

Connor Horan and Chris Muther were the two lone Dutchmen who were able to make way to get a shot on goal. Salvador Lopez Jr. had three shots of his own.

Clarkson, who currently ranks sixth in Liberty League play, moves to 3-3-2, and Union sits at 0-5-2.

The Dutchmen return to play on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. against the Bard College Raptors.
