ALBANY, NY – The Union College women's soccer team picked up its fifth win of season with a 2-0 victory over Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences on Wednesday night.
The Dutchwomen out-shot the Panthers 32-2 in the contest, with shots on net totaling 16-2.
First-year goalkeeper
Allison Sorkenn made her collegiate debut, stopping both shots she faced from the Panthers to earn the shutout victory for Union.
Union's first goal came in the 30th minute off the foot of
Christine Hill, as the junior scored her third goal of the season. Senior captain
Katie Monahan scored in the 73rd minute, her second of the season, to cap-off the scoring for the Dutchwomen.
The game against the Panthers was the final nonconference contest of the season for Union. The Dutchwomen now begin the heart of Liberty League play, hosting RPI on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 7, at 3 p.m. (ET).
