Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Kosakowski Remains Productive in Loss to PSU

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA – The Union College women's ice hockey fell to Penn State this evening, 3-1.

After a quiet, well-fought first period the Dutchwomen entered the second period stalled at 0-0 with the Nittany Lions. Penn State would be the first team to make its way onto the scoreboard, as Christi Vetter scored four minutes into the second period, unassisted.

Play action would pick up from there, as the Dutch responded less than three minutes later. Junior Arianna Kosakowski helped put the puck in the back of the net and would be Union's only scorer on the evening. Cheyenne Harris and Hannah Schultz were awarded the assists.

Tied at one a piece, Penn State continued to keep the pressure on Union's defense. The Lions were able to score eight minutes into the second period, leaving Union at a 2-1 deficit. PSU scored again in the third period ultimately earning the victory, 3-1.
