CANTON, NY -- St. Lawrence built an early lead during Saturday's mid-day Liberty League matchup on North Country Field, downing the Union Dutchwomen 5-2.

Five different Saints tallied a goal each, while Junior
Alexa Puleio found the goal twice for Union. With the loss, Union falls to 1-2 in league play, 5-5 overall.

The Saints got on the board twice in the first eleven minutes, with goals from Tori Shaffer and Lucy Stillman. Union answered back in the 17th minute, as Puleio redirected a free hit from 20 yards out to beat the Saints' Sophie Cardenali on the near post.

St. Lawrence continued the scoring spree, registering goals by Maggie Wraight (17:22), Molly Wood (23:47) and Lindsay Houseman (59:07).

Coming out of the break down 4-1, Union applied pressure on the St. Lawrence defense, outshooting the Saints in the second half. In the final minute of play, Puleio scored her second goal of the afternoon, tipping in a feed from
Laura Wind on the near side.Â

Union returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 10, as they travel to Elms College to take on the Blazers in Chicopee, MA at 7 p.m. (ET) for a non-league contest.
