POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - After taking the first set of the match, the Dutchwomen couldn't hang on as Vassar took the last three sets to secure the conference win.
Union's offense struggled to get into a groove this afternoon, as the team only swung a .068 efficiency percentage. Vassar swung .239. With 44 kills on the day, as a team, the Dutchwomen also committed 34 errors, making it hard to turn the momentum in their favor.
Lara Atalay was the most productive swinger for Union on the day. She had nine kills on 29 attempts (.172). Only four Dutchwomen had attack percentages in the positive range.
Brianne Hallock led Union's defense and handled Vassar's consistent attacking well, as she had a match high of 20 digs.
Sage Shimamoto dished 34 assists.
Vassar, who is now 5-0 in conference play and sits atop the Liberty League, had four attackers swinging above .200. Devan Gallagher proved to be most productive for the Brewers. She had 24 kills on 60 attempts (.333)
