SCHENECTDAY, NY – One last shot was what Saturday night's contest between Union and RIT came down to, and unfortunately for the Dutchmen, Union ended losing to the Tigers, 65-62, as Troy Pierre-Louis hit a half-court shot as time expired.
Â
Union is now 3-3 on the season with a 1-1 mark in Liberty Play, while RIT improves to 4-2 (2-0 LL).
Â
Despite the loss, three Dutchmen hit double digits in scoring, led by
Greg King's double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Kevin Weckworth was second on the team with 14 points and
Brendan Laing had 10 points.
Â
In the first half Union shot 41-percent and led the Tigers 38-31 at halftime. However, in the second half RIT came out and controlled the game for the comeback win.
Â
The biggest factor in the loss for Union was points off turnovers. Even though both teams had 13 turnovers a piece, the Tigers scored 13 points to Union's five off turnovers.
Â
Union returns to the Viniar Athletic Center for one last time in the 2017 calendar year, hosting MCLA on Monday, Dec. 11.
