UTICA, NY - The Union College Dutchwomen powered past the Utica College Pioneers, thanks to a second half surge, to secure the 61-53 win on Saturday afternoon.
The Pioneers out shot the Dutch, 26-22 in the first half. However, Union was able to post 39 second half points, compared to Utica's 17, to run away with the victory.

Jenni Barra shot a career-high 29 points this afternoon. The New York native shot five of nine from behind the arc and combined for a 57 percent shot percentage on the evening.
Collectively, the Dutchwomen made 10 of 13 from the charity stripe and shot 60 percent in the second half, alone.Â
Union trailed for a majority of the game, but would finally settle the score at 46 a piece, at the 8:40 mark in the fourth quarter. Barra drained a jumper to give Union its first lead since the first quarter, with just over seven minutes to go in the game. With Barra's jumper, Union secured its lead and would run away with its first win since Dec. 1.
Sophie Borg and Lily Abarbanel each drained a basket from behind the three point line, and junior
Nicole Conley added three assists on the evening. Borg also had three assists.Â
The Dutchwomen return to action on Tuesday, Jan. 2 to take on MCLA at the Viniar Center.
