THIS WEEKEND
The Dutchwomen return to Messa Rink this week, as they host #3 Clarkson and #8 St. Lawrence. Friday night's contest against the Golden Knights is slated for a 6 p.m. (EST) puck drop followed by a 3 p.m. face off on Saturday against SLU.

LAST TIME OUT
Union vs. Yale – Dec. 1
After defeating Yale, 6-3 earlier in the season, the Dutchwomen jumped out on the Bulldogs early in the game. With a 3-0 lead in the third period, Yale would finally score their first of the night. Union responded shortly after, on a power play goal, but would conclude their offense for the game. In the remaining 16 minutes of the game, Yale would score four goals, including one in overtime, to lift the Bulldogs over the Dutchwomen, 5-4.

Union vs. Brown – Dec. 2
Despite the tough loss the night before, the Dutchwomen bounced back and defeated Brown, 5-1. Haley Shugart scored two goals, one of which would be the ultimate game-winner. Brandy Streeter, Katie Laughlin and Katelynn Russ all contributed one goal apiece. With the victory over Brown, Union has swept Brown on the year, making it the first time in program history that the Dutchwomen have swept a league opponent for the season.

CHAMPS COME TO TOWN
Union welcomes No. 3 Clarkson University to town Friday night. The Golden Knights are coming off a National Championship season in 2016-17 and currently find themselves at the top of the ECAC standings. Clarkson is 6-2 in ECAC play, with losses to Colgate and Quinnipiac. The Dutchwomen are 1-26 all-time against Clarkson, dating back to January 2004. Union defeated the Golden Knights 2-1 in 2011. Last season the Dutch dropped both games against Clarkson, 1-5 and 1-3.

WHEN THE SAINTS GO MARCHING
No. 8 St. Lawrence also comes to Schenectady this weekend, for a 3 p.m. face off on Saturday. The Saints are currently 7-6-3 overall, but sit just two spots ahead of the Dutchwomen in league play. In ECAC conference games, SLU is 4-3-1, dropping a pair of games to Clarkson last weekend and falling 1-3 to Cornell. Union has never defeated St. Lawrence, with the Saints holding the all-time record of 22-0-2 against the Dutch.

SHUGART'S SHOT
Leading the league in scoring last week with three goals, sophomore Haley Shugart earned herself ECAC Player of the Week honors. With a goal against Yale and two against Brown, Shugart now has five goals on the season, and two assists. Despite missing the first six games of the season due to injury, Shugart has contributed immensely to the Dutch's success, as Union has gone 4-5-1 since her return.

WHO'S LAUGHLIN NOW
Senior Katie Laughlin has been hot for Union, scoring three goals in the Dutch's last four games. In her senior season, the Massachusetts native has nearly doubled her career totals, with four goals and one assist this year. For her first three years, Laughlin had just two goals and five assists.

APPLE WATCH
Cheyenne Harris had four assists last weekend, bringing her to 11 on the year. The sophomore had two assists in Friday night's game against Brown, notching her 15 and 16th career assists. With number 16, she now has the highest number of assists registered by a Dutchwoman before the end of her sophomore campaign. Maddy Norton, '14, holds the single season record for assists with 18, which she did in the 2013-14 season.

A CLASS OF THEIR OWN
As a collective force, Union's sophomore class is a powerhouse in the league. Totaling 38 of Union's 83 points this season, the class is tied for second in the league in points (38) and assists (23), and first in the league for goals (15). Fifteen of Union's last 23 points have come from the sophomore class. Maddy Norton, '14, holds the single season record for assists with 18, which she did in the 2013-14 season.
