ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY - The Bard College women's basketball team lost to Union College, 52-28, in a Liberty League game on Saturday afternoon. Union improved to 11-8 overall and 8-4 in conference play. The Dutchwomen have won three straight and five of the last six. Bard fell to 0-20, 0-12
Sophie Borg led Union with 18 points and 11 rebounds. It was her second straight double-double of the weekend. The 11 rebounds tied her career high set earlier this season. Borg played 24 minutes as Union played 14 players in the contest.
Nicole Conley scored eight points and
Natalie Leone added six points with six rebounds. The Dutchwomen shot 40%.
The Raptors were stubborn early in the defensive first half, and they trailed just 22-14 at halftime. But the Dutchwomen outscored Bard 15-1 in the third quarter to put the game away. Union held the Raptors to 52 total points in the two meetings this season.
Annie Kissel led Bard with 13 points. She and Andra Moye were honored pregame as Bard's two departing seniors.
Union has a busy home week of Liberty League games starting Tuesday. The Dutchwomen host RIT Tuesday night at 6 p.m., then will host RPI February 10 and Skidmore February 11.
