Elmhurst downs Dutchmen

WINTER HAVEN, FL -- Austin MacMillan had four hits and Brandon Kressner drove in four runs to lead Elmhurst College to a 24-1 victory over Union College in baseball action Monday. The Blue Jays are now 4-5 while the Dutchmen stand 1-2.

Elmhurst scored eight runs in the first and also four runs in the third and ninth while producing 23 hits on the day. The Blue Jays had two hits and three RBIs each by Ben Havel and Jordan Scrimpsher, as well as two hits each by Reagan McReynolds, Karson Thomas and Matt Conroy. Havel, the starter allowed one earned run and one hit and struck out eight in six innings to improve to 2-0. Three pitchers combined to allow four hits.

Kent Curran, Greg Dougherty, Troy Hansen and Jake Vesling had hits for Union, and Curran's was a double.

The Dutchmen continue the Florida break week schedule with a 10 AM game vs. Babson in Auburndale.
