CANTON, NY --Â Despite seven different Dutchmen scoring, the Union College men's lacrosse team opened up Liberty League play with a 13-7 loss to St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY Saturday afternoon.
Senior attacker
Peter Richardson opened up the scoring with a goal at the 13:22 mark of the first quarter when he took a pass from
Jack Scheufele. Unfortunately, this would be the only Union lead of the day. Richardson lead the Dutchmen with three points in the game as he also assisted on two goals in the game.
The game would remain tight throughout the first three quarters. In the fourth quarter of play, the Saints would find the back of the net four times while the Dutchmen were unable to put a tally on the board.
Three of the Dutchmen goals came via the man up advantage as
Kerry Lyne, Jordan Copper and
Daniel Kycia all converted. They finished 3-of-6 on the man up advantage for the game.
Union will be back on the field on March 29th when the Dutchmen host Wesleyan University. The game is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m. at Frank Bailey Field.
