Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Four Dutchmen Score in Loss to No. 14 Wesleyan

SCHENECTADY, NY -- The Union College men's lacrosse team fell to No. 14 Wesleyan University by a score of 13-4 Wednesday afternoon at Frank Bailey Field.

This is the Dutchmen's first loss at home this season after winning their opener against Babson College on March 5th.

Union's four goals came from four different players with the Dutchmen tallying one goal in each of the four quarters. Kerry Lyne, Daniel Kycia, Jack Kaufman and Jack Scheufele all found the back of the net Wednesday.

Lyne's goal came off an assist from Jordan Cooper with 1:29 remaining in the first quarter as he tied the game at 1-1 as for much of the period it was a 1-0 game in favor of the Cardinals.

Wesleyan would score the next three before a Kycia goal at the 4:34 mark of the second quarter of play. By halftime the Cardinals had scored two more times to push their lead to 6-2.

Two early third quarter goals by Wesleyan's Taylor Ghesquiere gave him a hat trick for the game. Ghesquiere would finish the game with five goals while adding an assist to his total.

Union will be back at Bailey Field on Saturday as it plays host to Clarkson at 1:00 p.m. This will be the Dutchmen's first home Liberty League game of the 2017 season.
