CORTLAND, NY – Senior Kristen Ohberg scored a game-high eight points on three goals and five assists to lead the nationally second-ranked Cortland women's lacrosse team to a 14-6 victory versus Union College Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action at the Stadium Complex. The Red Dragons improved to 2-0 with the win, while the Dutchwomen fell to 1-1.
Sophomore Carly Stone netted a game-high four goals for Cortland. Junior Hannah Elmer recorded three goals and two assists, and senior Makenzie Annable and freshman Lexie Meager each tallied one goal and one assist. Junior Katie Wolfe and freshman Brie Yonge scored one goal each, while senior Nicolette Tortorici added an assist for the Red Dragons. Senior goalie Jaclyn Beshlian turned aside seven shots and scooped up two ground balls. Wolfe won four draws and caused two turnovers, Yonge secured three draws and Meager caused three turnovers.

Jen Hughes made 10 saves. Driscoll won four draws, and Pandolfi secured three draws. Junior
Caitlin Hullinger caused three turnovers, and junior
Celia Condrick had a game-high four ground balls for the Dutchwomen.
Cortland built a 4-0 lead just before the midway point of the first half as Ohberg assisted two goals by Stone and Wolfe and Annable scored from the free position. Hagopian's goal at 15:10 put the Dutchwomen on the scoreboard, but Yonge, Meager and Ohberg netted goals for a 7-1 Red Dragon lead. Walsh made it a 7-2 game heading into the half at the 5:08 mark.
Elmer netted two quick scores off feeds from Ohberg to open the second half before Driscoll and Cronin made it a 9-4 game with back-to-back goals. The Red Dragons took control with a four-goal run to open up a 13-4 lead with 14:21 remaining. Sullivan stopped the streak with back-to-back scores, and Ohberg finished the scoring with her third of the game at 5:20 for the 14-6 final.
Union opens the home season Saturday vs. #9 York at 4 p.m. at Frank Bailey Field.
