Dutchmen Fall to Nationally Ranked RIT

SCHENECTADY, NY -- The Union College men's lacrosse team lost 15-8 Saturday afternoon at the hands of No. 5 RIT at Frank Bailey Field in Schenectady, NY.

Paced by four early goals, the Dutchmen jumped out to a 4-1 lead over the nationally ranked Tigers in the first quarter. Union had four different players get on the scoresheet in the opening period.

Unfortunately, Union was able to find the back of the net just one time in the second period on a Kerry Lyne tally. Meanwhile, RIT was able to put seven goals into the net to take a three goal advantage at halftime.

The Tigers were able to extend their lead in the third quarter scoring the first six goals of the second half pushing their lead to nine at 14-5 at the 5:59 mark of the third.

Union had two players notch a pair of goals in attacker Peter Richardson and long stick midfielder Josh Willis. RIT's Kyle Killen recorded a hat trick for the Tigers while Ben Tackett and JD Hall scored two a piece.

The Dutchmen will be back on the field on April 22nd when they host Bard College in Liberty League play. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start at Frank Bailey Field.
