SCHENECTADY, NY -- Sophomore shortstop Hannah Anderson had three hits and drove in five runs to lead the Ithaca College softball team to a 21-1 non-league, five inning victory over host Union College at Alexander Field Thursday afternoon. The teams played a single game, as Ithaca defeated RPI, 5-0 in a game played earlier in the day at Union. The Bombers are now 26-8 for the season while Union is 4-21.
Vanessa Brown also had three hits and scored three runs while Abby Shields had two hits and four RBIs. Ithaca also had two hits each from Allie Colleran, Emily Bloom and Annie Cooney. Overall, Ithaca recorded 20 hits in the five innings. Starting pitcher Emily Holden went the distance, giving up just two singles while walking two and striking out four. She allowed one unearned run and six base runners to improve to 10-2.

Brianna Godlewski had one hit each for the Dutchwomen.
Ithaca scored four in the first and plated nine runs while sending 13 batters to the plate in the second inning. The Bombers had two in the third and one in the fourth with five runs in the fifth. Colleran hit her sixth homer of the season while Anderson blasted a two run shot, her first, in the third and Shields' three run homer in the fifth was her first of the season.
The Dutchwomen will host local rival RPI Saturday at 1 p.m. for Senior Day.
