Women's basketball drops fourth straight at St. Lawrence

CANTON, NY - The Union College women's basketball team lost 53-72 to the St. Lawrence Saints this evening, falling to 4-8 overall and 1-5 in Liberty League play.

Nicole Conley led the Dutchwomen this evening, with 20 points, two assists and three blocks. Senior Jenni Barra scored eight points and added three assists and Corina Lindsay and Alexa Morin scored six and eight points, respectively.

Union improved its shooting percentage from last night by 14 points, as the team shot 30 percent last night and went 22-50 tonight for a 44 field goal percentage. The team also improved on its turnovers from the night before, dropping from 23 turnovers to 15 this evening.

The Dutchwomen failed to gain a lead over the Saints, but would pull within at least two points, at four different times during the first quarter. However, by the end of the first half, the Saints held a 14-point lead that would grow over the remainder of the game.

St. Lawrence capitalized and earned 16 points, alone, from Union's 15 turnovers.

The Dutchwomen return to action for a midweek conference game against the Bard Raptors this Tuesday at 6 p.m.
