Statistical Comparison

How It Happened
The Dutchmen got on the board first, as Vidmar scored his first of the season just seven minutes in. However, Omaha went on to score twice before the first intermission to claim a 2-1 lead. The Mavericks used an even-strength goal from Zach Jordan and a 5-on-3 goal from Kevin Conley.

After giving up the lead, the Dutchmen dominated the second period, scoring three goals and out-shooting Omaha, 16-6. Rinaldi scored his first of the night at the 3:30 mark of the second to tie the game up at 2-2. Liam Morgan then tallied his first of the night while on the power play to give Union back the lead at the 9:14 mark. Rinaldi added his second on Union's final power play of the period to put the Dutchmen up 4-2 with less than eight to play in the middle frame.

Omaha responded in the third period, scoring two power play goals, one just 38 seconds into the period, but a second Morgan power-play goal would prove to be the difference maker for the Dutchmen.

Up Next for the Dutchmen
Union hits the road next weekend, Oct. 19-20, for a two-game series at Northeastern. Both games in Boston are set to begin at 7 p.m. (ET).
