Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Dutchwomen fall to Tigers

ROCHESTER, NY – A late comeback bid fell short, as the Union College women's lacrosse team dropped a 17-12 decision to RIT on Friday evening.

Union falls to 0-2 (0-1 LL) on the season, while RIT improves to 3-3 (1-0 LL) as both teams began Liberty League play.

The Dutchwomen got on the board first, with a goal from Ramsey Walsh on a free-position shot in the first minute and Kellie Cronin added a second goal to give Union a 2-0 lead in the first two minutes. However, RIT would go on to take an 11-6 lead into half time.

Coming out of the break, Union fought back and narrowed the score to 12-10. Unfortunately, the Tigers added five-straight goals to push the lead out of reach.

Not conceding, the Dutchwomen added two goals in the final 30 seconds of play, but it was too little too late as the Tigers held on for the 17-12 win.

Hannah Rosenberger led the Dutchwomen with three goals in the contest, while Cailin Pandolfi, Cronin and Walsh each added two apiece.

Union takes on Liberty League opponent William Smith tomorrow at 3 p.m. (ET).
