AUBURNDALE, FL – The Union College baseball team kept up its hot offense in a two-game sweep of Colby College on Sunday, defeating the Mules, 9-1, in the first game before coming from behind to win 11-7 in the nightcap.

Union had 12 batters hit over .300 on the day, including nine who hit .500 or better.
Colin Kelly led the Dutchmen on the day, getting three hits in four at-bats (.750), which included two doubles.
Jack Koch led the team with four runs, while
Sean Cullen had four RBI's and Union's first home run of the season.

Bill Christopher threw a gem of a game in the first outing against the Mules, striking out 11 and conceding just one run on four hits in the complete-game win. In game two,
Eric Beer earned the win, throwing 3.0 innings, while closer
Colin Nye picked up the save while shutting out the Mules in the final stretch.

In the first game Union put up five runs in the first three innings before Colby could get on the board with its only run of the game in the bottom of the third. The Dutchmen didn't let off the gas and continued to pile on the runs to an eventual 9-1 win.

After recording one run in the first game, Colby jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the night cap. However, Union came alive in the bottom of the fourth to string together six runs on four hits and one error, taking a 6-3 lead.

The Mules responded in the top of the fifth with two runs to cut their deficit to one (6-5), but Union added two more runs on the fifth as well to take back the three-run lead. Colby continued to press in the sixth, adding another two runs to again come back within one run, but the Dutchmen added three in the bottom of the inning for the eventual 11-7 final.

Union is now undefeated (5-0) to start the season and will return to the diamond in Florida for a single game against Thomas College tomorrow, March 26, at 10 a.m. (ET).
