SCHENECTADY, NY – The Union College women's lacrosse team lost, 16-5, to No. 15 SUNY Cortland in its first game of the 2018 season on Tuesday afternoon at Frank Bailey Field.

The Red Dragons scored 10-straight goals to open the contest, and took an 11-1 lead into halftime.

Senior Cailin Pandolfi got the Dutchwomen on the board with 7 minutes left in the first half. Pandolfi would then score Union's second goal to start off the second half.

Cortland and Union traded goals after that, as junior Ramsey Walsh scored her first of the season to make the score 12-3.

After Union got some offense going, Cortland then scored four-consecutive goals to increase its lead to 16-3.

In the final six minutes of play, the Dutchwomen scored two more goals to finish out the contest. First years Abby Stoller and Isabel Bush both scored their first collegiate goals to bring the final score to 16-5.
