HOLYOKE, MA – The Union College baseball team put together a 7-4 victory over Elms College on Tuesday night.
The Dutchmen (13-4) were led by
Harrison Glatt who went 2-for-4 on the evening with two RBI's and two runs scored.
Chris Symington also had four stolen bases in the contest, as Union totaled 11 stolen bases against the Blazers.
Behind four hits and one error, Union jumped out to a three-run lead in the top of the first inning. Symington led off with a double, and Glatt and
Sean Cullen followed up with back-to-back singles to load the bases.
Will Bellamy later singled to score Symington, before a fielder's choice and error on
Kevin Chaimowitz's plate appearance allowed Cullen and Glatt to score.
Elms got on the board in the second, but Union put together four-straight one-run innings beginning in the fifth to take an eventual 7-2 lead before the bottom of the eighth.
The Blazers scored two runs in the bottom of eighth, but the Dutchmen ended their scoring there and held on for the 7-4 victory.
Anthony DeSantis earned the win, throwing 4.2 innings, conceding just one earned run on seven hits.
Josh Garber threw 2.1 innings and
Nick Williams threw 2.0 innings with both only conceding one hit each.
The Dutchmen take back to the diamond tomorrow evening, April 11, hosting MCLA at Shuttleworth park for a single game slated to begin at 6 p.m. (ET).
