Â
The Thoroughbreds got on the board with a lone run in the first inning and three more in the top of the fourth. Skidmore ended up holding a 6-0 lead through the first six and a half innings before Union could get on the board.

Once the Dutchmen's bats heated up, they got white hot.
Â
Two hits and a walk loaded the bases before
Anthony Amoroso earned a base on balls to score the first of five runs in the bottom of the seventh.
Sam Kirschenbaum followed up with a sac fly to right to score Knight. Leading batsman
Colin Kelly then hit a single to score Koch, and Cullen hit a double to left center to clear the bases and cut Union's deficit to just one.
Â
In the bottom of the eight, Union took a 7-6 lead behind two hits and runs from
Harrison Glatt and
Joe Ganim.
Â
The sweep looked all but a lock with one out remaining in the top of the ninth, but the Thoroughbreds strung together a triple and two doubles to take back the lead and go up 10-7. Skidmore held on in the bottom of the frame to force the doubleheader split.
Â
