AMSTERDAM, NY – The Union College baseball team battled back from three errors and a 4-0 deficit to earn a 9-5 victory over Oneonta on Tuesday night at Shuttleworth Park.

Union improves to 22-6 on the year as it heads into the final two weeks of the regular season.

Oneonta started the contest reaching on three consecutive errors to load the bases. The Red Dragos would end up scoring two runs in the first inning thanks to the defensive miscues, and two more in the second off a two-run homer to claim a 4-0 lead heading into the bottom of the second.

The Dutchmen started chipping away at Oneonta's lead, scoring one run in both the second and third innings. A single by
Joe Ganim scored
Andy Labeck from second for Union's first run of the game, and a single by
Sean Cullen scored
Harrison Glatt for the team's second.

Union then took the lead in the fourth, posting three runs thanks to two hit by pitches and a walk that loaded that bases before
Jake Vesling hit a bases-clearing double to put Union ahead, 5-4.

In the sixth, the Dutchmen added another three runs, this time thanks to runs scoring on a passed ball, a wild pitch and a sac fly by
Colin Kelly.

The Red Dragons would score their final run of the game in the seventh after stringing together three hits in the frame. However, Union added its final run in the bottom of the eighth as Vesling scored on another passed ball by Oneonta.

Glatt, Vesling and Cullen all had two hits each in the contest, while Vesling led the team with three RBI's, coming off his double in the fourth.

Charlie Hoover earned his second collegiate win, pitching five innings after coming in to start the third for the Dutchmen. Hoover conceded just one run on four hits while striking out six batters.

The Union baseball team is scheduled to be back at Shuttleworth Park tomorrow, April 25, to host Williams College for a 6 p.m. (ET) matchup.
