ROCHESTER, NY -- In the last regular season game of 2018, the Union College Dutchmen lost 17-7 to the No. 1 RIT Tigers.
With today's loss, the Dutch finish conference play with a 4-4 record and a fifth place overall finish. Union will compete in the Liberty League quarterfinals on Saturday, April 28, to begin the postseason.
RIT got off to a quick start tonight, scoring within the first two minutes of play.
Kerry Lyne connected with first year
Hayden Frey, at the 12:20 mark, to tie up the game at 1-1. However, after Union's first goal of the day, the top seeded, nationally ranked Tigers took off with six unanswered goals to close out the first quarter of play.
Charlie McGovern netted the ball, twice, unassisted to kick off the second quarter and cut Union's deficit to four. But no matter how Union's offense responded, the Tigers continued to put the pressure on and take advantage of key scoring opportunities.
RIT out shot Union just 47-43, however, the Tigers worked on defense too, causing the Dutchmen to commit 17 turnovers and go just 1-6 on extra man opportunities.

Matthew Georgiades all scored goals for Union this evening. First year Georgiades scored his first career goal tonight against the Tigers.
