Union Come Up Short Against Skidmore 2-0

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Union College junior forward Salvador Lopez Jr. recorded a game-high four shots, including one on target as the Dutchmen fell to Skidmore, 2-0, in their Liberty League opener, Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Thoroughbreds scored the lone goal of the opening half in the 36th minute when Shoyo Yanagihara converted from the penalty spot to give the hosts a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.
  • Skidmore doubled their lead in the 81st minute as Hart Jemieson scored from 30 yards out to put the game out of reach.
  • In the loss, Union sophomore goalkeeper Trevor Krupp tallied career-high four saves, bringing his season total to 10.

WHAT'S NEXT
The Dutchmen return to action Wednesday, Sept. 19, traveling to face SUNY Cobleskill at 5:00 p.m. (ET).
