Men's Soccer Gets Win Over Sage, 1-0

ALBANY, N.Y. — After a slow first half, defense shined, as the Union College men's soccer team defeated Sage College, 1-0, on Tuesday night in Albany.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Regardless of a scoreless first half, the Union Dutchmen and the Sage Gators were equal in play, as they both had six shots on goal in the first 45 minutes. Senior Salvador Lopez Jr. led all players in the first half with four shots.
  • Union opened up the game's scoring, courtesy of a goal from first-year Evan Farr. Farr got a pass from senior Jeremy Conn and shot it from 15 yards out left center to get it by the Sage College goaltender. With the goal, Farr leads all Union first-year players in goals and points, with four and five, respectively.
  • The Gators led in shots in the game, with a 18-8 advantage. Junior goalkeeper Trevor Krupp had 10 saves in the close win over Sage. The win marks the eighth of the season for Krupp, and his fourth shutout.
  • Union improves their record to 10-6-0. The Sage Colleges fall to a 8-8-0 record on their season.
