Men's Soccer Falls to SLU, 2-0

CANTON, N.Y.— Defense struggled in the second half, and Saint Lawrence capitalized offensively in the game, as the Union College men's soccer team fell to Saint Lawrence, 2-0, in Canton, N.Y., on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Saints opened up scoring quickly, with a Miles Levy collecting a pass from Robert Reynolds to get it past the Union goaltender to make it 1-0. Levy's goal, his third of the 2019-20 season, proved to be the eventual game-winner for Saint Lawrence in the 19th minute.
  • SLU capitalized on a free-kick, courtesy of a foul on the Dutchmen. Marvin Sibanda scored off of a free-kick to get his fourth of the season and make it 2-0 midway through the second half and secure the victory.
  • Saint Lawrence outshot the Dutchmen on the day, 14-5. Junior goaltender Trevor Krupp saved 5 shots on goal in the third straight loss for Union men's soccer this season.

WHAT'S NEXT:

The Dutchmen continue conference play on the road and heads to Bard for a Saturday afternoon conference clash. Kickoff in Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y. is slated for 2 p.m.
