SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College women's tennis team held a lead for much of the day, but the Dutchwomen came up just short in a tough 5-4 loss to Ithaca College in Liberty League action on Saturday at the Union Tennis Courts.
Senior
Alex Greenberg won both of her matches to lead Union (3-9, 1-5 Liberty League) on the day, as the Dutchwomen won twice in doubles and twice in singles against Ithaca (2-10, 2-4 Liberty League).

Tal Pezzuco got the Dutchwomen on the board with an 8-1 win over Caroline Dunn and Kathryn Shaffer at first doubles, followed by an 8-5 victory by Greenberg and sophomore
Samantha Siegel at third doubles over Sara Steinberg and Shannon Wolfe.
Greenberg completed her perfect day with an easy 6-0, 6-0 win at sixth singles over Rel Klein to put the Dutchwomen up 3-1, but wins for Ithaca at third and first singles knotted the score with three matches still to be decided. Sophomore
Megan Brown got the home team one point from a win with a 7-6 (7-4), 6-0 victory over Dunn at second singles, but the Dutchwomen came up just short at the fourth and fifth flights to suffer the defeat.
Union will be back in action on Friday with a non-conference match against SUNY New Paltz starting at 3:30 p.m. at the Union Tennis Courts.
