TROY, N.Y. – The Union College men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 match to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, ranked 35th in the latest Oracle/ITA Division III Men's Rankings, in Liberty League action on Tuesday evening at the Sharp Courts.
Junior
David Bond picked up the lone win of the day for Union (5-7, 2-4 Liberty League), posting a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Suryansh Patel at sixth singles.
Three players earned a pair of wins each for RPI (7-6, 5-1 Liberty League), which jumped out to a 3-0 lead after sweeping the doubles matches and then took the top-five singles flights.
The Dutchmen will play on the home courts for the final time this season next Friday, April 26, when the team hosts St. Lawrence University at 3 p.m.
