AMSTERDAM, N.Y. – The Union College baseball team suffered a 12-3 loss to Middlebury on Tuesday night at Shuttleworth Park.
Union (14-19) conceded 17 walks to Middlebury (21-9), who also stole 12 bases as well.
After giving up seven hits in the first 4.2 innings, the Dutchman pitchers closed out the final 4.1 innings without a hit.
Zach Zides (2.1 IP),
Chris Murdock (1.0 IP), and
Steve Acquario (1.0 IP) combined to keep the Panthers off the scoreboard in the final half of the contest. Murdock and Acquario each struck out three batters in their innings of action.
Six Dutchmen recorded hits in the outing, with
Joe Ganim,
Chris Symington and
J.R. Lopez scoring runs.
Union heads to Connecticut tomorrow, May 1, for a single game against Trinity. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. (ET).
