HARTFORD, Conn. -- The Union College baseball team dropped its final nonconference game of the regular season, losing 7-0 to Trinity College on Wednesday night at Murren Family Field/DiBenedetto Stadium.
Trinity (26-7) scored its seven runs off of nine hits and five errors, and scored all seven runs in the first five innings. Union (14-20) was limited to five hits in the contest, coming off the bats of five different Dutchmen.
A total of six pitchers saw action for Union, as
Tommy Scherrer got his fourth start of the season, pitching 3.0 innings before being relieved. The final four pitchers for Union combined for just two hits against and one unearned run.
Andy Labeck recorded one hit for the Dutchmen and also saw time on the mound, pitching the final inning for the Dutchmen with no hits and one strikeout.
Union closes out the regular season this weekend, taking on Skidmore in Saratoga Springs on Saturday, May 4, before hosting the Thoroughbreds for senior day on Sunday, May 5.
