Weekend Highlights
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College softball team split a pair of games with Clarkson, losing 3-1 in 8 innings in game one, and winning 9-8 in the second game in 10 innings, Saturday in Liberty League action at Alexander Field.

Game One: Clarkson 3, Union 1 (8)

Senior
Dana Dolinko struck out four batters and gave up three runs in eight innings, while also driving in the lone Union run of the game.

The Golden Knights took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. The next run didn't come until the bottom of the fifth when a Dolinko single to left center field drove in classmate
Kelsey Hartsoe to tie the game for the Dutchwomen. Clarkson put the game out of reach with a pair of runs in the eighth inning.

Game Two: Union 9, Clarkson 8 (10) Â Â Â

For the second game in a row, the Dutchwomen trailed 1-0 after the top of the first inning. However, sophomore
Stuart Buxton was able to steal home after the Golden Knights overthrew second base trying to catch Dolinko stealing second to tie the ballgame.

After Clarkson scored twice in the top of the second to take the lead, Union answered with three runs in the bottom of the frame to lead 4-3 heading into the third. First-year
Julissa Malana plated Hartsoe with an RBI double to left center, and a Buxton single with the next at bat drove in Malana from second to even the score. Senior
Kim Puzo later drove in Buxton to give the hosts their first lead of the evening.

The game was tied once again in the fourth, and the visitors retook the lead with two runs in the seventh inning. Junior
Kayla Fisher sent the game to extra innings for the second game in a row after her RBI single scored first-year
Kaleigh Conte, and sophomore
Catie Raeter crossed home plate after a throw to get her out running to third base went over the fielder's head.

The deadlock was broken in the eighth inning when Clarkson took an 7-6 lead. Union kept the game going with a sac fly by first-year
Julia Boule that scored Buxton and tied the game.

The Golden Knights scored a run in the tenth to take the lead once again, but a double by Buxton drove in Puzo to tie the score. Boule secured the victory with a walk-off single down the right side that allowed Buxton to score.

Union return to action Sunday, April 7, hosting St. Lawrence for a Liberty League double-header at 1:00 p.m. (ET). Â Â
