Dutchmen release 2019-2020 schedule

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College men's hockey team has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2019-2020 season. The campaign features 15 home games at Messa Rink, including non-conference matchups against Boston University and Northeastern as well as 11 ECAC Hockey contests.
 
The season begins on Saturday, October 5, as the Dutchmen host the Terriers of Boston University in a rematch of the Friendship Four title game from a year ago. Union will then finish the weekend with a Sunday contest at Army West Point. The following weekend, Union will host the two-time defending Beanpot champions Northeastern for two games on October 11-12.
 
Union will start ECAC Hockey play on October 25-26 with two games against Rensselaer, with the Dutchmen hosting the Engineers on Friday before traveling to Houston Fieldhouse on Saturday. The Seventh Annual Mayor's Cup is scheduled for Jan. 25 at the Times Union Center.
 
Union's final home nonconference game will be against Merrimack on Dec. 13. The dates for the other five ECAC Hockey conference series to be played at Messa Rink are: Nov. 8-9 vs. Clarkson and St. Lawrence, Dec. 6-7 against Brown and Yale, Jan. 10-11 versus Colgate and Cornell, Jan. 31-Feb. 1 against Harvard and Dartmouth, and Feb. 21-22 versus Princeton and Quinnipiac.
 
On the road, Union will head to defending national runner-up Massachusetts for a two-game series on Oct. 18-19. Union travels to Buffalo for a two-game series against Canisius (Nov. 1-2) and the Dutchmen will also participate in the Catamount Cup at the University of Vermont on Dec. 28-29.
 
The five other ECAC Hockey road series are: Nov. 15-16 at Quinnipiac and Princeton, Jan. 3-4 at St. Lawrence and Clarkson, Jan. 17-18 at Yale and Brown, Feb. 14-15 at Cornell and Colgate, and Feb. 28-29 at Dartmouth and Harvard.
 
ECAC Hockey playoffs are set to begin with first-round action on March 6-8, and semifinals on March 13-14. The ECAC Hockey Championship will be held back at Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, March 20-21.
 
The NCAA Regionals will be held between March 27-29, and regional sites include: Worcester, Mass.; Loveland, Colo.; Albany, N.Y.; and Allentown, Pa. The 2020 Frozen Four will be held at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit from April 9-11.
